Students will post a 1/2 to 1 page narrative with examples of how they have developed their own Personal Learning Network (PLN) and how they intend to continue to grow (not necessarily adding tools to your PLN, but what tools have worked for you and might you continue to develop ) their PLN after the course has been completed. Recognize that not all tools work for all people. What tools work for you?

Answer 2

What tools work for me? That is a good question. I love the graphic organizer. I see myself using that tool a lot. I have always considered myself an organized person but I believe this tool will put my organization down in a neat clear way. After all I am a visual learner. What better for a visual learner to learn and stay on track than to have a graphic organizer at his fingertips?

I guess one tool I am looking forward to using more is Skype. I want to look into having the kids Skype with other kids around the US and maybe even around the world. It would be interesting to get the opinions of other teenager in other parts of the country and world on subjects that are effecting our kids right here in Berthoud.

Me using the Wiki goes without saying. I love that site. I never used it before and I feel so far behind the times. I have so many plans for using wiki’s now for both the classroom as well as disseminating, collecting and sharing information among the staff here at Turner Middle School. I really believe that using a Wiki’s will really enhance the next PLC (Professional Learning Community) that we do here at TMS for professional development.

I have been using Delicious for a while but got out of the habit of saving things to that site instead of the desktop. This class reminded me to use the Delicious account so that I have access to my sites whenever and wherever I need them.

I guess over all I am looking forward to really getting into some of these sites and have decided others do not really fit me or my classroom. I do think I have grown from this class and plan to look into other sites that me be helpful for my classroom.
